DIY rose water, rose oil and makeup remover recipe with rose petals
For the homemade natural cosmetic products, only the rose petals are used.
They should be cleaned before use because traces of pollen can irritate the skin.Put the rose petals in a pot and pour water over them.
The rose makeup remover (cleanser) is a product that can be used daily and is suitable for all skin types. We don’t need many ingredients to prepare this makeup remover.
The process may take several days if you choose to prepare the rose oil without heat. But it is worth choosing this option because in this way the benefits of the rose petals are not destroyed from the high temperature.
Ingredients:
-1 bouquet of roses
-Rose oil
-1 cucumber
-Water
Step 1: DIY rose oil
The rose oil should be prepared a few days before you start with the recipe.
Fill a dark glass jar with rose petals and fill it half with oils. You can use any type of oil or even combine your favorite oils. I recommend using oils which are beneficial for your skin type.
Leave the liquid at the room temperature for 72 hours, shaking it from time to time and adding more fresh rose petals to it.
Step 2: DIY rose water
First we deal with the preparation of rose water.
Put 500 ml of water to boil.
In the meantime get rose petals off the roses. Wash them with a jet of cold water to remove dirt or traces of pollen.
When the water is boiling, add the rose petals. Remove the pot from the stove and cover it with a lid.
Leave the petals to infuse until the water cools down.
Strain the rose petals and put the resulting water in a pot.
Step 3: Prepare the cucumber
Grate or blend a medium peeled cucumber (about 6 to 7 inches length) and put it through a strainer.
The resulted amount of liquid should be approximately 50 ml. If you got less repeat the same process with another cucumber.
Pour a tablespoon of rose oil over the cucumber liquid.
Step 4: DIY rose makeup remover
Add 50 ml of warm (at room temperature) rose water.
Mix all ingredients until a uniform form of liquid is built.
The resulting liquid is stored in a dark-colored glass container. Shake it well and put it in the refrigerator.
This makeup remover lasts for a week. After, it loses its benefits and has the risk of irritating the skin.
You can clean your skin daily, in the morning and in the evening with a cotton wool pad or a reusable makeup remover soaked in the cleanser.
